Hello there I would like to visit westerdale moor and spend a day looking at the archaeological remains. Could you tell me if this is open access land or will I need permission to walk on the moor? If I need permission could you please advise me on who to contact. Regards Kidney

If you buy a recent Ordnance Survey map, the Open Access areas are shaded light green.
The majority of moorland around Westerdale is open access although some areas which may look like moorland but have been enclose din the past might not be included.
If you intend spending a lot of time looking at a particular area it might be a good idea to have a word with the landowner which is Faccombe Estates. (can be found in google, main address/phone no. is in Hampshire) Hope this helps!
